laramie at 10:52am on 19/09/2006I brought the car to Mr. Tire yesterday and discovered the cause of the slow leak in the left rear tire. All fixed now. (Yay!)
While I was sitting in the waiting area, reading Greg Bear's Slant, a young person of undetermined ethnicity accosted me, distracting me from the book, holding out a handful of necklaces (Hematine beads, with faux ivory and turquoise claws and arrowheads as fobs). I said I wasn't interested. I was in fact alarmed at being accosted there. I've never heard of businesses like a tire repair garage allowing outside vendors to wander in and disturb their customers.
