I found seven four-leafed clovers at the bus stop this morning! (I missed my usual bus and had a longer than usual wait for the next one.)
When I checked my email this morning I glanced through the stuff in the junk mail folder, prior to deleting it, and found a gem among the crap: a message from old friend and hitch-hiking partner, Marty H. Who was announcing a change of address, to a co-housing community in Ithaca that looks like a fascinating place to live.
MSN apparently thinks MIT is a source of spam. It has also sent Natter messages there, and messages from other friends who include me on their mailing lists. I hate scanning the junk mail because so much of it is stuff I really don't want to encounter. (No; I don't want to see all those explicit sexual materials, no; I don't want to increase my penis size or my breast size, or help Nigerian ex-government officials move millions of imaginary dollars around...) So, in trying to avoid all that I've probably lost some messages from people I really would like to hear from. I can only hope they'll try again, and I will renew efforts to scan the junk before deleting.
