I had to pay for lunch today because the sandwiches I left in the break room fridge disappeared over the weekend. I left a message for Realtor Corrine, and spoke to Realtor Bob, who will be stopping by this evening to look at the house and get a better idea of my situation.

My assignment for tomorrow is to make calls to Best Buy and Bank of America and see if I can prod them into doing the right thing by my credit report. I'm tempted to start mentioning my family full of lawyers, though my belief is that turning to the law is what happens only when civil communications fail.

Over the weekend I took stock of my possessions, and made lists of what to keep, store and dispose of otherwise. There are a lot of question marks depending on what size a space I can find immediately and whether I have to plan on making a temporary move while looking for longer-term quarters.

Last night I rode with Ray to the Rise Up Singing Circle, (in the 'new' truck he bought from KEEY) bringing my Should-be-World-Famous Pizza Fried Rice for the pot luck. Ray brought a pot of wonderful beans baked with Spanish Sausage. Karen had made a huge fruit salad using fruit from her own garden, aside from the pears which she got from a neighbor, in trade for some of her plums. Her garden seemed to have survived the drought, in somewhat strained condition.

The music was much fun - as usual. We tried out a Barbershop Quartet harmony – and decided it would be easier to start with something to which people already knew the melody. Afterwards we squeezed Tony W. in for a ride home; he runs the monthly open stage at the Walker. Somehow Ray and I agreed to try performing there together. When we got to my place, though, and tried to come up with times when we could get together to rehearse this plan turned into going there together as moral support for one another's solo performances. (If a guy pleads 'fear of commitment' in the face of agreeing on a rehearsal time one is apt to draw certain conclusions. On the other hand, he did let himself be enlisted to help with my move when I need it.)
