Well; I came out yesterday to find that someone had smashed the windshield of my car during the night. Two good whacks with a rock or bat: a web of broken glass right in front of where the driver’s face would be and long cracks across the whole windshield. I don’t have comprehensive coverage so insurance won’t pay for it. None of the places I tried calling, whose listings said ‘same day service’ were available on Sunday.

Now I have to miss a day on the new temp job. If it weren’t for the loss of income I wouldn’t mind, and maybe it will be a good thing. I got a call from The Creative Group (my graphics temp service) about a temp-to-hire job possibility I might actually like. They were going to show my resume to the client and call back, but I haven’t heard from them yet. Maybe because the client wasn’t interested, but maybe because they just didn’t respond before the weekend. So, I’ll have a chance to follow-up on that today.

I’ve been working on a new bookmark, and have updated the website to reflect the pieces that sold and the new, lower prices I had at the fair. (www.dreamspell.net/crafts/)

I’ve written a set of Haiku poems to accompany some ideas for visions of ‘Things Unseen’ that I’m planning for a picture book. One of my favorites is,

Werewolf on Sax

It’s not the full moon
Makes me howl, sing out or wail;
It’s the day that’s died.

([livejournal.com profile] elisem has another Haiku Challenge coming up, so this exercise is also a preparation for that.)

Otherwise; I survived another week on the temp job. I caught up with most of the household chores and errands that I neglected for the Powderhorn fair last weekend – except for mowing the lawn.

I tried to start the mower and just couldn’t get a single chug out of it. I’ve left a message on Ray’s phone asking for help or reference to someone who can (he’s been working teaching kids lawn-care and lawn-mower repair skills.)

I made a payment to the Gas company. I owe on the other utilities, but am not sure I’ll be able to make any other payments this week. It depends on how much it will cost to replace the windshield, and I only hope I can afford that.

Next week's goals depend somewhat on things yet to be discovered, but ideally they will include continued work on the Things Unseen project, and the latest bookmark (garnet, amethyst and peridot). Plus I’m hosting a filk circle on Saturday.
