Yesterday evening I got started on a new bookmark that incorporates a couple of the lovely charoite ovals I got at the wholesaler trunk show Sunday, some violet slab pearls and galvanized gold seed beads, with a few smaller freshwater pearls on a violet satin ribbon with gauzy stripes. Lovely stuff.

Yesterday I also (finally) started reading Sorcery and Cecilia; I’ve been hearing good things about it for so long, that I hunted up a copy. I wish I’d thought of bringing magic into that Jane Austen milieu!

In the meanwhile I’ve made a database of apartment listings gleaned from a publication I found at the bus stop. I chose out about seventy that are in an acceptable price range and can now sort it by location, price, or square footage, and I’ve included notes on the amenities. I only included listings that allow cats and include heat in the rent. Being so busy with this, I didn’t make any progress at all on the current novel. (Working title: Paradise).

Now that I'm planning on a roommate, and have arranged to share with someone familiar, I'm feeling a lot more optimistic about the upcoming move. Jill and I have very different styles when it comes to housekeeping preferences etc, but we've got a lot of mutual respect for one another's boundaries, and we're good at talking about any issues that come up.
