I am here. I spent the morning doing last minute packing, etc. at home. (Washed up the dishes in the sink, made a batch of my sugar-free chocolate so I won't feel TOO bad about passing up con-suite goodies, packed, checked email and read LJ). Then it was off to the Con! (Stopping for lunch on the way and writing my daily episode of the current novel (Thanksgiving) which I have yet to transcribe from longhand.
I checed-in, got my stuff to the hotel room and unpacked and then went down t the Art Show to see how I could help. Dave
davidwilford and Lisa (WINOLJ) were just heading upstairs. We went to the Con Suite to spend a little time before Art Show setup. (We got caught up in a poster-hanging project. I put words in the mouth of the giant alien squash (Ken Fletcher art).
We recruited the stalwart
pgdudda, Matt (WINOLJ) and BobYo, and William (WINOLJ). William assumed the role of Mallet Man, and we all got the panels up in record time. (Dave had pre-plotted their positioning and had all the pieces ready to go. I brought in my portfolios so they wouldn't be sitting out in the car all night and the lot of us returned to the Con Suite.
There, I wheedled Matt, Peer and Ethan into a game of Super Scrabble! It was much fun. We drew in a small crowd of kibbutzers before the end. While thus engaged Howard H. joined the people doing registration in the next room and some music wafted in.
When the game was done I went up for my mandolin and joined Howard for a while, with Marilee singing. Howard had been playing for hours and was getting tired. Lenny had been there for a while on harmonica, but left about the same time I arrived and no other musicians joined us, but we did do a little playing, and when Howard and Marilee finally retired I played on alone for a while. It was still only about one a.m. by the time I got to sleep.
