Pool Party
I had a mostly great time:
A little hot soup is always nice when it turns cold, so I made a huge pot of chicken-barley-vegetable soup yesterday and brought some along to the pool party (unfortunately forgetting the ladle, but we made do.) laurel for finding spoons!(and all your efforts as hostess!) (I also brought something to drink, per instructions. :)
I was pleased to see Floyd H, back in town for a while and to chat with him,markiv1111 and Louie. I was also pleased to see all those other friends who I didn't get much chance to talk with: bonz_lizard, chasophonic and cari_rose, alierajean and more than I can list at the moment.
I spent most of my time at the party in one of the side rooms filking with a good crowd of other singers, (including usualsthorintatge, Richard, Rich, DaveA, and John Sanderson on guitar - as well as a lot of drop-ins. We sang for hours, and I was often singing at the top of my voice, which turns out to be a bad idea in dry, chlorine-laden air.
By the time we wrapped up I had a headache and a slight nose-bleed.
By the time the other musicians were setting up the larger circle in the main room I was feeling out-of-sorts, and didn't think I'd be missed, so I headed home early. (And was able to give a ride to a couple friends, who'd have been stuck waiting around if I'd stayed later.)
