Office progress
Not much today, but I forgot to mention my exercise in measuring the back bedroom, sketching it out on graph paper (to scale) and plotting out the placement of future shelves. I got shelf measurements from the IKEA catalog.
I went through IKEA on foot, and would have bought some shelves, but they were too heavy to lift. A self-serve furniture store is more of an advantage for strong people. I went to the IKEA website and tried to order the shelves online, but got stuck when registering - an error message came up telling me that my city and zip code didn't match. Well; I know my city and my zip code, and both were correct, and several attempts did nothing to improve the situation. I wrote an email to IKEA's customer service people to tell them about the problem, but have heard nothing back as yet. I may have to contact my sister-in-law, Mary to ask her to remind me which family members are currently working at IKEA. (The sister who was does no longer.)
Today: laundry and reading. I took Terry Pratchett and The Monstrous Regiment with me to lunch at The Buffet King which
naomikritzer mentioned in her LJ. I've passed it several times on my way to other places and had wondered about it. It was very good, but the salmon was dry compared to what they serve at the Super Grand Buffet in the Hi-Lake strip-mall, and I like the wontons better at the latter place. The Tilapia was definitely better at the former, and they had more seafood and sushi alternatives.
