What is it with October 6th?

I had a tough time deciding to attend my sister's wedding on October sixth.

When I got her invitation I'd already been planning to attend a Harvest Workshop with the Midwest Fiction Writers on that date. Soon afterward came the invitation to the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators conference scheduled for the same weekend.

As of today I've also turned down invitations to help a friend move that day, attend a concert by another friend's band that evening and attend a gathering of fellow college alums that day.

Does every organization in the state have events planned for October 6th?

Edited to add: oh yeah: and the Mnstf meeting!

Dude! what *is* it with that??!? My mom's Birthday is that day, and I've been invited to *3* parties, there's a concert and I'm workign a double because a co-worker is on vacation that weekend. o___O;

It's *so* weird! Pretty much I've decided to take my mom to sushi after work and stay home and make dolls. (and watch netflix. :P)
