We are looking for a creative individual who can work in a variety of media to produce stories, art works, articles and activities for children and adults. This person must be able to engage the imaginations, hearts and minds of an intelligent and perceptive audience, and to communicate a uniquely meaningful perspective in an entertaining style. The ideal candidate will be adept at selecting details that combine to convey a harmonious sense of the larger picture or story, and will have both a sense of humor and an understanding heart.

This person must also take responsibility for all aspects of administering and running a small business: coordinating and prioritizing projects, doing necessary research, procuring supplies, managing the budget, marketing, sales, record-keeping, accounting, filing, calls, correspondence and data entry. Additionally, this person will maintain the premises and support business personnel by handling housekeeping, nutrition and personal-care tasks. This person will also be in charge of hiring any additional help that may be required.

Qualifications: traditional art skills (drawing in pencil, pen, paint, crafts such as beading, sculpting, et alia), the ability to draw scenes from the realms of dream and imagination and visually convey information gleaned from the other senses; the ability to articulate experiences relevant to the whole range of human experience, a thorough working knowledge of the English language and grammatical usage, editorial skills (in a first-reader capacity), competence with word-processing, typing, digital image-editing and photo-editing software, web design, HTML, CSS, print publication software, database and spreadsheet software; the ability to learn new skills as required, to take the initiative in recognizing and responding to unanticipated needs; and the ability to work both independently and with others.
