New yen

I've decided I want one of these:

I've become concerned about reducing my carbon footprint, this seems like a big improvement over driving a mile to get to the nearest Whole Foods store to get groceries, or for other relatively small errands. Not only saving on gas, but getting me some exercise. At least when the weather's decent.

It might also be worthwhile going somewhere else other than Whole Paycheck ;)

I frequently walk the mile and change, or take my regular bike. It does mean more frequent trips, but no biggie

The other coops in my area are even further away; the only thing close enough for walking is a big chain store where I can't get organic fruits and veggies - though I'll walk there for some other things.

All the big chains carry organic now, so if your local location doesn't: ask for it.

I go to Cub, Byerly's Lunds, etc : they all have organic fruits, veggies, popcorn, Organic Prego spagetti sauce, organic cleaners/or less-toxic cleaners (7th gen. etc) - but some locations have a lot more quantity then other locations: but all the chains have it: so it's the individual store manager's choice to stock it or not: demand it!! Or you know, at least ask for it, or they won't start stocking more.

Rainbow is close to me, and they do have some organic choices, but there's a much wider variety at Whole Foods and the other coops (I'd prefer to go to the coops all things considered.) I also don't trust the big chains to be as scrupulous in checking out the sources of their merchandise.
