I feel like I am doing too much waiting lately. I'm trying to use my time well, making preparations, doing research, so that I will be ready for action when the time comes.

I'm waiting for the day when I will have the money to finance classes, conventions, art fairs, etc.

I'm waiting to hear back from various friends.

I'm waiting for interest in my artistic portfolios or job resumes.

I'm waiting to hear back from the Big Brother, Big Sister organization.

I'm waiting to be in a position to do more to help the causes I believe in.

I'm waiting for Fate: I'm waiting for things that can't be rushed, and the maturation of seeds that have already been planted, for balls in other people's courts.

I hate waiting.

Do you ever feel like there's more than one of you?

At the same time that I'm so impatient in one sense, in another sense I remind myself, "I can't be contented with yesterday's glories, I can't live on promises winter to spring. Today is my moment, and now is my story; who cares what tomorrow will bring?"

and, if I can't appreciate what there is in this moment to be enjoyed, how can I expect to enjoy any future occasions I'm awaiting? Life is what happens while you're busy making other plans.

Absolutely -- I try at such times to pick my favorite or best-behaved me :0) Hope the waiting bears spectacular fruit!

Cool. I'm glad I'm not alone. Thanks for good wishes.

Since I feel like there's about a dozen of me, at least I seldom feel lonely. :)

Seriously, I think these conflicts are what happens when I'm identifying with some parts of my psyche more than other parts, and my solution is to look for the larger sense of self that includes all the subsets.

Perhaps you could stop waiting and simply, through patience, learn how to let go.

:D

Just a little thought :)

I usually do best when I can switch my focus from the things I'm waiting on to appreciating the things I've got, enjoying whatever's good in my present circumstance.

OK.
Did you get Rich's notice about not being able to host the filk circle next week? Would you check with Richard and see if he wants to host it?

Thanks!

June
