I started a load of laundry before I set out on errands at 9:30 a.m. When I finally got back (after going to MOA and Ikea, Trader Joe's and The Wedge) at about 2p.m. my wet laundry was sitting on top of the dryer while somebody else's load was drying. By the time I finally got my other load washed and both loads dried it was 5p.m. - when the Filk Circle was due to start!

I arrived a little late, but was still the first of the regular filkers to arrive. It was a fairly small circle. The regulars were all there, and David A showed up with his set of colorful boom-whackers and a very large bodhran. The music was mostly fun as usual, though I found myself more easily frustrated when there were slightly different melodies coming from either side.

Rich and Greta served us all some yummy home made pizza, and there were cookies and cinnamon apple rings, iced tea and grape juice as well.

Afterward thorintatge, Richard and I all headed south to Bloomington to catch a performance by markiv1111's band at a VFW there. I had a blast! Not only was the band good, but it turned out that I knew Clara and Rick from Rise Up Singing circles! And I did some dancing! And it turns out that Rick teaches and knows both mandolin and rock n'roll, which is just the kind of coaching I've been looking for! I didn't get home until after midnight, and even then I had to finish Undead and Unappreciated before I could get to sleep.
