The Loft is having a Children's Literature Festival! It's scheduled for the third weekend in April. I've already registered to attend. I couldn't resist when I read that there will be an opportunity for illustrators to show their work to editors from four different children's book publishers!

I was disappointed that I won't be able to make it to New York for LunaCon, and consequently missing the chance I was hoping to have for visiting publishers there. This is just great, having some publishers come to my own town!

Come meet editors and art directors from Dutton Children’s Books (Lucia Monfried, Senior Editor), Picture Window Books (Keith Griffin, Creative Director), Free Spirit Publishing (Marieka Heinlen, Creative Director), and Windward Publishing (Angela Wix, Graphic Designer, and Robin Schreiner, Editor). You’ll have an opportunity to show them your portfolio, and to discuss with them their upcoming illustration needs. (You may wish to have packets of color photocopies and business cards to leave with the presenters.) You are also invited to bring an easel and display non-original art in the exhibits room.
