Ah, Minnesota

Sixty-six degrees out and people in t-shirts and shorts are lined up at the Dairy Queen.

I've still got my sweater on, but I'm feeling a little under the weather. I'm not sure if it's a cold or seasonal allergy, but my nose has been stuffy and the NyQuil/Dayquil equivalents haven't been having their usual good effect.

I got some sunshine, though, and that was delightful. I also finished reading Tomb of the Golden Bird, (thanks, [livejournal.com profile] cakmpls! I'll return it at the next opportunity.) I will be sad if that's the last we hear of Amelia Peabody and family, but it does offer a good explanation as to why history does not record their involvment with the discovery of Tutankhamen's tomb.

As above. When I got there (4/13) the blossoms were mostly gone and the remaining were sad. We passed several big Cherry Blossom Festival events in DC, in the rain and cold, with few blossoms to appreciate. Ah, transitory beauty.

A few were still around, brightening an otherwise gray trip. Not, alas, enough.
