Ah, Minnesota

Sixty-six degrees out and people in t-shirts and shorts are lined up at the Dairy Queen.

I've still got my sweater on, but I'm feeling a little under the weather. I'm not sure if it's a cold or seasonal allergy, but my nose has been stuffy and the NyQuil/Dayquil equivalents haven't been having their usual good effect.

I got some sunshine, though, and that was delightful. I also finished reading Tomb of the Golden Bird, (thanks, [livejournal.com profile] cakmpls! I'll return it at the next opportunity.) I will be sad if that's the last we hear of Amelia Peabody and family, but it does offer a good explanation as to why history does not record their involvment with the discovery of Tutankhamen's tomb.

Hey, my daughter and her friend went to one of the lakes in swimming suits! (At least they weren't planning to swim.)

It's 47F in Virginny and my heat pump is dead! Fortunately, the condo is staying over 65F. Our really good ice cream place opened up for the season last month, but I'd be surprised if they were open today. It's an outdoor place and we got 2" of rain today. Now we're supposed to have more rain with lots of wind.

Cherry Blossom Woes

Here in Wash DC, it's colder than normal (as noted above) and raining. Better weather in Mpls, but that's not the annoying part: The cold and rain put a major damper on the Cherry Blossoms in the city. This is a Big Deal in DC, with events and concerts. The show went on, but without the scenic backdrop.
