The Second Sunday R.U.S. (Rise Up Singing, not Rodents of Unusual Size) group met again last night after being on hiatus for the past couple months. (Karen R, our hostess, had been training to qualify for a role as a Principal.)
It was nice to see people again. Not all the regulars were there, (Ann H had a condo association meeting she had to attend, but Jerry was there with his guitar) but there were a few new faces and voices, too. My music lessons have made enough of an improvement that I was actually able to lead a couple songs without throwing anyone off with my quirky timing. I think I'm getting the hang of this consistent counting thing.
As usual, the singing was a lot of fun. We had Gospel and Rock; we had Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, and many more great songs and song-writers to inspire us.
There wasn't the usual array of snacks this time; it was like one of those unfortunate potlucks where everybody brings dessert, though there were a couple things I could eat (grapes and little sausage-cheese treats). I was still hungry when I got home, though, and snacked on some nuts to make up for it.
