After lunch today I dropped the car off at Tires Plus, walked half a mile to Snelling and bused home. Later in the afternoon I walked back to Snelling to catch the bus back northward. I just missed a #84 by half a block, and had to wait around for the next one. Snow started falling.

Did I mention that I failed to wear my winter shoes or boots? I'd tried them out on Monday and the tongues had warped in a way that rubbed against the tops of my feet and hurt. So today I wore my sandals over some thick cotton socks. Not figuring on spending quite so long waiting around with a cold, snowy draft on my feet.

Fortunately I was pleasantly distracted by meeting a nice woman who was also waiting for the #84. It turned out she's a professor of Medieval French Literature at St. Thomas. We chatted, between shivering and peering down the road for the bus, which finally appeared, twelve minutes late. The driver denied us service, pointing to the next #84, which was right on its 'heels.'

Finally, I reached Larpenteur and walked another half mile into the face of the wind and falling snow to arrive back at the Tires Plus. Only to be told that they found nothing wrong with my tires, other than the air pressure being too high. Which it would be, since I'd been adding air every time the indicator light came on. They told me to come back to them the next time the indicator comes one.
