Is it always like this, looking back on past loves? I've been renting old episodes of 'Bewitched' and 'I Dream of Jeannie' through Netflix.
I loved 'I Dream of Jeannie,' when I was a kid. I'm finding myself less happy with it these days. Seeing a woman so subservient to her 'master' didn't bother me then like it does now, and they changed the music! The DVDs don't have the happy bouncy theme music. They probably couldn't get the permissions cheap enough and they substituted some sappy music for the original theme. I frown.
I'm having a similar problem with 'Bewitched.' I like seeing how clever and powerful Samantha is, and it's fine that she loves Darrin, but the way she's willing to sublimate her power and real identity for the sake of pleasing him is very disturbing. I'm much more sympathetic to Endora these days. :)
