WEEK OF Oct 30 - November 6, 2023
The first snow of the season led me to rearrange my schedule and visit Terry on Wednesday instead of Tuesday. She had a bad day on Wednesday, with a fall after sliding out of her chair. I related all too well after my own fall on the previous Saturday. Sigh. I don't like to think of our mortality and inevitable obsolescence. One of the things I like about science fiction and fantasy is the leeway to dream impossible dreams of life extension technologies or vast futures that can allow for worlds like Phillip Jose Farmer's in which our descendants will find ways to bring us all back to live again...
Anyhow. I made my two weekly visits to Terry and took care of a lot of daily life stuff, like putting the cover back on the air conditioner, taking out trash and recycling, paying bills and washing dishes.
I've been reading Cat in the Stacks mysteries and streaming old episodes of Moonlighting. The dramedy had no contest in luring me away from CSI:NY's all too serious world view.
I've been putting off setting new dental appointments and other minor tasks I should get to real soon now.
